The objective of the Chamber is to facilitate growth opportunities for UK business selling goods & services into Kazakhstan and increase the value of business generated by British companies.
The Chamber is located in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana with its affiliates in Almaty and Atyrau.
British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan was launched on 14 September 2015 with the support of high-profile British and Kazakh businesses: Air Astana, KPMG, Rio Tinto, Shell, Tsesna Bank and Wood Group.
The Chamber has over 50 members representing British business community in Kazakhstan and aims to increase the number of members in the course of the further development.
Business Leaders from British companies in Kazakhstan represents the Committee which is responsible for overseeing the function of the management office as well as provision of overall strategic direction.
Chief Operating Officer and Head of Audit KPMG IN KAZAKHSTAN AND CENTRAL ASIA
Ashley started his auditor career in the United Kingdom in 1995, became a partner in 2004, and joined KPMG in Russia and the CIS as a Financial Services audit partner in March 2008. In October 2012 Ashley has been appointed Head of Audit of
KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. In addition to his own client responsibilities, Ashley is responsible for audit engagement quality reviews in KPMG in Russia and the CIS. In 2015 he led country quality reviews for KPMG audit practices in
India and Ukraine, and participates annually in financial services reviews for KPMG London. He is a member of the Audit Risk and Quality committee for KPMG in Russian and the CIS, and in 2016 was appointed Audit Quality Performance Lead Partner.
Ashley is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan and is the Kazakhstan country representative for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Peter Foster entered the airline industry immediately after graduating from Cambridge University in 1982, as a management trainee of John Swire and Sons (HK) Ltd, the owners of Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. From 1982-1999 he served in a variety of management
and senior management positions with CPA in Hong Kong, Asia, Australia and Europe, and underwent business management training at INSEAD, France. Mr. Foster left Cathay Pacific Airways in 1999 to head up the rehabilitation team of Philippine
Airlines Inc. He subsequently served as Chief Executive Officer of Royal Brunei Airlines from 2002 to 2005 prior to his appointment as President of Air Astana. In the 2015 UK New Year’s Honours List Peter Foster was awarded Officer of the Order
of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to British aviation in Kazakhstan.

Quintin joined Bolashak in November 2010 initially as Operations Director, and was appointed Managing Director in 2011. Quintin Goldie has subsequently taken over the role of Group CEO with overall responsibility for all companies in the Bolashak Group. Quintin’s unique blend of experience in Kazakhstan and the Caspian region, combined with thirty years’ experience in providing a wide range of technical and industrial services to the Oil and Gas and construction industries means that he is ideally placed to drive the business forward. After many years of international project and construction management for the Oil and Gas industry, Quintin successfully managed an industrial services company in Baku, and subsequently introduced the company into the Kazakhstan market. The company underwent a period of fast profitable growth, which led to their acquisition by a major international provider of industrial services. Quintin has been at the forefront of developing Safety and Quality cultures within the CIS Oil and Gas service industry. Charles Hendry was Conservative Member of Parliament for Wealden from 2001-2015 and was Minister of State for Energy from May 2010 until September 2012. He was previously the Conservative Party’s spokesman on energy issues, holding the portfolio
longer than any previous Minister.
The Prime Minister thereafter appointed him as his Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, holding the post until the 2015 General Election when he left Parliament. He is now Chairman of Eurasia Partners.
Since leaving Ministerial office, he has been appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh (in both the Business School and the Academy of Government). Charles is President of the British Institute of Energy Economics; and
President of the Advisory Board of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce and of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.
He is Chairman of the Forewind Consortium (Statoil, Statkraft, SSE and RWE), which is currently seeking consent to build the world’s largest offshore wind farm in the North Sea. He is an adviser to Atlantic Superconnection, which is looking
to construct a transmission cable to bring low-carbon electricity from Iceland to the UK; to Vitol, one of the world’s largest energy trading companies; and to AECOM.
He has also held the business, higher education and youth portfolios for the Conservative Party; as well as the role of Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.
Prior to entering Parliament, Charles had his own communications consultancy, supporting chairmen and chief executives in their corporate networking. He was Chief of Staff to the Foreign Secretary, William Hague MP, when he became Leader of
the Conservative Party.

Benjamin is the founder of Paine Stevens. His practice focuses on cross-border financing, corporate and commercial transactions.
Since leaving the City of London in 2000 Benjamin has worked for international law firms in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. He moved to Georgia to establish Paine Stevens in September 2012.
Raihan Ismailova joined British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan in April 1, 2015. Prior to, Raihan lead the PwC Government Relations initiative in Astana and has been the primary driver for the firm’s business development efforts in opportunities
with Astana City Hall – development of the roadmap Smart Astana. Raihan advised Kazakhstan national and regional PPP Centers, municipalities and state companies in the development of PPP framework and roadmap to enable readiness of the clients
to implement PPP projects.
Prior to her current role, Raihan spent more than 6 years working for “ConocoPhillips” based in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Raihan provided executive business support to the leadership team of ConocoPhillips during their interactions with high
level government officials of those countries. Raihan led business development activities and exchange visits of NC”KazMunaiGas” to COP offices in Houston, Alaska, (US), Stavanger (Norway) and Mubadala Office in Abu Dhabi. Prior to her assignment
in “ConocoPhillips” Raihan served at the Kazakhstan Embassy for USA and Canada in Washington DC, US.
Raihan holds MBA degree in International Business from European University, Geneva, Switzerland. She is member of Kazakhstan Government Relations Community and PPP Global Network (WBI) and certified specialist in PPP.
