On 7 November the British Chamber in cooperation with PwC held a webinar on Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures (or shortly known as MLI). The MLI will come into force in Kazakhstan as early as 1 October 2020 and will change the procedure for applying the provisions of some tax conventions from 1 January 2021.
The aim of the webinar was to raise discussion with Kazakhstan business on impact of MLI to cross-territorial relations, business strategy and main topic - taxes. PwC speakers made an overview of the West European approach to MLI, in particular the approach applied by the most popular jurisdiction in Kazakhstan - the Netherlands.
