New Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan

Dear Members of the Chamber,

We are glad to announce that Tim Owen became a new Chairman of the Committee starting from September 2019. Please welcome Tim!

After qualifying as an architect, Tim joined a practice in Shrewsbury, UK, where he gained experience in a wide range of Education sector projects. During this time Tim became a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a chartered member of the UK Architects Registration Board.

In 2006, Tim relocated to Kazakhstan where he established a design firm based in Almaty, developing work in the Commercial, Residential, Oil & Gas, Education, Hospitality and Retail sectors.

He has worked in all major cities in Kazakhstan, on projects ranging in scale from small interior design schemes up to 500Ha masterplans, and has been responsible for the design of over 100 projects totalling 14,500,000 sq.m of built area throughout the country

While diversifying his business, Tim established a company that distributes and installs Victaulic pipe coupling systems and CNP pumps. He later bought a category 2 licensed construction company to offer a full design & build service in Kazakhstan, Tim also owns businesses in outsourcing, real estate and development.

In 2016, Tim joint ventured with an architectural practice based in London, on a number of high profile projects in Kazakhstan, he has since solidified the relationship to become partner and General Director of the business.

Tim was a member of the board of Kazakhstan International School for 7 years and is also a Professor of Architecture at the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture.
