Astana Hosted a Conference on “Latest Changes in Accounting and Audit and Their Regulation”, Organized by the Ministry of Finance in Cooperation with the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan

The conference was attended by Vice-Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan Ruslan Beketayev, representatives of the National Bank, AIFC, the professional community, representatives of the academic community, and national companies.

In welcome speech Ruslan Beketayev noted that “without high-quality accounting and audit, it is impossible to ensure the sustainable development of the country”. In his opinion, it is necessary to improve the skills of specialists in the field of accounting and audit.

Leading foreign experts in the field of audit Ashley Clarke - Head of the Audit Services Department of KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia and member of British Chamber Committee, Sha Ali Khan - Director for Regulation Development of ACCA, as well as practicing accountants, methodologists, and auditors spoke about changes in international accounting and audit standards, the practice of accounting for cryptocurrency enterprises, the creation of an independent supervisory authority in the field of audit.

At the end of the conference, Vice-Minister of Finance Ruslan Beketayev presented awards to the winners of the Republican contest “Best Accountant” and “Best Auditor”, organized in order to raise the image of the profession of an accountant and auditor, stimulate students' interest in the profession and enhance skills among practitioners.
